How To Replace/Upgrade Rear Derailleur On A Bike

I show how to replace a rear bike derailleur. In the video, I replace the Shimano 105 Derailleur with a Shimano 600 model. It’s a minor upgrade, but I have already upgraded the most of the rest of the parts on my 1990 Trek 1000 to Shimano 600. And I got the derailleur on eBay for pretty cheap. I show how to remove the old derailleur and install the new one, and show how to adjust the indexed shifting.
I didn’t mention it in the video, but you need to make sure the indexing of the new derailleur is compatible with your shifters. In this case, I knew that both derailleurs were SIS (Shimano Index Shifting), and the Shimano 600 was compatible with the 7 speed freewheel and shifters.
