How Indexed Shifting Works On A Bike

Posted by on in Derailleurs, Shifters

I show and explain how indexed shifting works on a bicycle with the shifters and derailleur working together to move the chain to specific cogs on a freewheel/cassette. The bikes in the video have Shimano SIS (Shimano Index System) derailleurs, but indexing works the same on other brands of drivetrains such as Campagnolo and SRAM.
