Fixing RockShox Quadra 21R Forks – Elastomers Replaced With Wood Dowels

I bought this Klein Pulse-Comp mountain bike at a garage sale and got a great deal. The Rock Shox 21R Shocks weren’t frozen, but barely moved. When I went to overhaul them, I found that someone had replaced the elastomers inside with wooden dowels. What the heck? The forks seemed to be in good shape otherwise. Maybe this was there attempt at locking them out. I bought another pair RockShox Quadra 21R shocks on eBay that were listed for parts. I used those as donors and used the elastomer stacks from those and fixed the forks that were on the Klein.
