I “stole” a friends bicycle while he was on vacation and and did a complete teardown/rebuild. It was in pretty rough shape. It’s not a high end bike or anything, but he rides it. So I know he will appreciate it. It will be waiting to surprise him when he gets home. The bike is an old Schwinn Mesa Runner with 3×5 friction shifting. Mostly it was just clean up. I did install a new chain, grips, cables, housings, brake pads, bottle cage screws. I also replaced the front reflector which was broken and after this video, I replaced the derailleur with a newer Shimano Acera X to improve the shifting.
